Garlic and onion

Plenty of Thanksgiving recipes use onions and garlic. However, you should know that these can affect the red blood cells of dogs. In many cases it leads to anemia, and this is something that you won’t notice right away, as it takes a couple of days until symptoms show up.

Chocolate

Chocolate contains theobromine, which is a chemical that is harmful for dogs. It can increase their heart rate and it can lead to seizures. There is a lot of theobromine in dark chocolate so make sure that you keep your dog away from it.

Turkey

Turkey is dangerous for a number of reason. If it is raw or undercooked, it might have salmonella bacteria. The bones are not safe either. Sometimes they might splinter off in the intestines or esophagus. The skin should be kept away from your dog as well, as they can lead to pancreas inflammation and gastrointestinal issues.

Food that has a high-fat content
