Android 9 Pie Arrives on Nokia 8 as a Beta Update

Nokia 8 users will finally gain access to Android 9.0 Pie. For now a beta of the OS is available via Nokia Beta Labs and a stable version will be released in the near future.

HMD Global, the phone manufacturer licensed by Nokia, initially promised that the Pie update will arrive in November but a few unexpected issues led to a delay.

Nokia 7 owners will be happy to learn that the company will soon begin to roll out Android Pie for their device. Currently, the device is only available in China, where it was released to positive reviews last year.

Users are invited to download the beta and offer valuable feedback that will allow the stable release to be as bug-free as possible when it will arrive. No schedule has been offered until now so the beta may last for a while.

Those that wish to install the Android 9.0 Pie on their device will have to visit the Nokia Beta Labs site. After they log-in with a Facebook or Google account a step-by-step guide will show them how to install the latest update on their device.

The update included a reworked navigation system and new features like Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery and the latest security patch. The device was released last years and reviewers were pleased by the device. It offers a balanced mixture of features and performance. The Android experience is undiluted as the device comes with the stock version of the famous operating device.

According to some sources the update for Nokia 7 is quite big at 1.6 GB. In order to install it users will have to have at least 3GB of internal memory available. The update should bring new features among which we can count a gesture-based navigation system, improved support for certain Bluetooth devices and Dual VoLTE.

It is thought that the update for Nokia 7 will arrive this month while the one for Nokia 8 should be released in January.
