Uptodown versus Aptoide: Which One Can Replace Google Play Store

When you think about downloading apps you instantly think about the Google Play Store. This is the default store for applications on Android devices. However, there are alternatives for it: Uptodown and Aptoide. These two have become more and more popular these days and today we are going to see why.

Uptodown

The biggest advantage of Uptodown is that you won’t have to pay for anything. Everything is available for free and there are 2.5 million apps available there. Not only that you won’t have to pay in order to download an app but apps don’t come with in-app purchases either.

In addition to that, the Google Play Store did have some issues with malware-infected apps in the past. Meanwhile, Uptodown focuses on safety and it comes with anti-malware engines that automatically check the APKs available there.

The fact that there are no pirated or counterfeit apps is a major advantage and it helps users remain safe. This is something that other Google Play alternatives can’t offer, and that includes Aptoide and Amazon.

There is only one downside when it comes to Uptodown. There are a couple of apps for which only older versions are available. However, this is only a minor drawback, and it can be overlooked. Another thing is that there are no search categories, which can make it a bit difficult to find the apps that you need.

Aptoide

Aptoide is another popular alternative. It is a lot faster than the Play Store and it also has free apps that would cost money on Google Play Store. However, we have to warn you. Aptoide does have pirated apps, which means that you have to be extra careful when you install an application. Aptoide does not have any anti-malware system, which means that the apps are not tested before they become available on the platform.
