The Future Of Ads: Click-to-WhatsApp Ad Campaign, WhatsApp Ads And More

Ads allow major social media websites to generate a huge profit, and ads are being integrated in most free apps. Facebook is one of the companies that gains huge amounts of money from ads, and things are only going to evolve, as Facebook purchased other apps as well. It appears Facebook is working on something at the moment, making use of WhatsApp as well:

Facebook has added traffic, conversions and page post engagement objectives for its Click-to-WhatsApp ads, ads that launch a WhatsApp chat, via the Facebook News Feed.

This can be a good thing for marketers, who can now purchase ads directly through the Facebook’s Ad Manager platform, and the ads show up in the News Feed of a user. More than this, the click-to-Whatsapp  campaign also includes post engagement, traffic, and conversions.

WhatsApp ads

Remember the good old days when apps were free and we weren’t bombarded with ads every time we opened an application? Well, it appears that those times are over. It was already announced that ads will come to WhatsApp in 2019, although we don’t have a certain release date yet.

This is something that has been revealed in an interview by Brian Acton, who was the founder of WhatsApp. He left the company, and he is not pleased with the changes:

Targeted advertising is what makes me unhappy. You build it once, it runs everywhere in every country. You don’t need a sophisticated sales force. It’s a very simple business. [Facebook] represent a set of business practices, principles and ethics, and policies that I don’t necessarily agree with.

Back in the day, WhatsApp promised its users that targeted ads will never be a part of the app. Nonetheless, this is something that has changed after Facebook purchased the app.
