In India, connectivity issues continue to exist and not all Indian people afforded the costs of an Internet connection. More than that, most services available were low-quality. Things began to change once Reliance Jio introduced 4G Connectivity.
For India, this change marked a new digital era and it increased the number of Internet users. At first, only mobile data plans were offered. The prices were very low and people were happy. However, the company is preparing some new things.
Upcoming projects for Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio has a new service, the Fiber To The Home service GigaFiber which is known as Jio Fiber as well. At the moment, the services are not available to the public, but Reliance Jio has been testing them.
The official announcement was made a while ago and ever since there were multiple reports that indicated tests in Indian suburbs and Metro cities.
It appears that the results from the tests that took place so far are very encouraging. Jio Fiber was tested in 1400 cities and there are mostly positive reviews.
The company announced the Jio Giga Fiber Broadband will be available in 1100 Indian cities at first. This might change based on the requests received for registration.
We also know that the company should receive an investment with service providers such as Den Network limited and Datacom Limited, Hathway Cable. The investment should be completed soon.
When it comes to the prices, it has been reported that the minimum price for a Jio Giga Fiber plan should be of 500 Rs. This plan is supposed to offer 300 GB of monthly data, and the bandwidth will stay at 100mps for the first three months. At the moment, these details haven’t been officially confirmed by Reliance Jio. The launch is expected to take place this year, and it is very likely that we will see a release in March.
