New Subaru Model Unveiled at the Chicago Auto Model

After a single teaser the new 20 Subaru Legacy has been unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show. The 7th generation of the popular midsize sedan will be available in the following configurations: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT and Touring XT.

The biggest change is represented by the availability of a turbocharged engine, an option that hasn’t been provided since 2012. The XT version of the sedan comes with a 2.4-liter turbo charged flat four engine that is able to generate 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet, on par with the Ascent. It will be able to from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds and the average city consumption should around one gallon per 24 miles and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.

A 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine is also available, netting 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet. Going from 0 to 60 will take 8.4 seconds and fuel economy will be around 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

The new legacy model is built on the Subaru Global platform, which provides a major increase in body stiffness and a quitter cabin, with a noise reduction of three decibels at high speed. A lower center of gravity will also increase the overall performance and handling of the car.

When it comes to looks the designers enriched the fluidity of the car brought and revamped cabin that which looks great. Those that opt for the Premium, Sport and Limited versions will be able to enjoy an 11.6-inch display that offers a variety of relevant information and useful features. The Touring brings the same e display but navigation features are offered as a bonus. Base models will offer two 7-inches display that deliver HIVAC controls and infotainment. Four USB ports, two on the front and two in the back, will allow all the passengers to charge their devices without the need to use a hub.

All the models will become available in the fall.
