The Microsoft Build 2019 Conference to Present Windows Core OS

Microsoft has announced the official dates for the company’s Build developer conference, a special event where the latest innovations and products will be revealed. The event is scheduled to take place in Seattle between May 6 and May 8.

High-ranking Microsoft figures like CEO Satya Nadella and the leader of the Windows Experience team Joe Belfiore will be present at the event. The current status of products and services like Microsoft Azure, the long-awaited HoloLens and Cortana will be discussed. Those that wish to attend the event will be glad to learn that registration will become available on February 27. A schedule of the sessions is not available at this point.

Some sources claim that Microsoft plans to unveil Windows Core OS during one of the sessions. Windows Core OS is thought to be a revamped Windows 10 experience that will pack a modular user interface, simplifying certain aspects and bringing new features. It is likely that Microsoft will also share some information regarding Windows Lite, a specialized version of Windows that plans to rival Chrome OS by allowing users to run Progressive Web apps. Fragments of code from a Windows Insider beta builds suggests that the company is already working on the Core OS version.

The company will stream some of the most important announcement, allowing interested parties to learn more about the new or improved products without the need to be present at the conference. The official advertisement for the invites seems to be targeted at developers, with the participants being invited to try bleeding-edge tools and technologies that are currently in development.  The announcement also hints that developers will gain access to new methods of developing software by being able to access real-time industry data.

A large amount of major announcement took place during last year’s conference. Microsoft revealed how Cortana will be able to work in tandem with Alexa, an improved version of the mixed reality headset and the availability of Ubuntu and iTunes on the Microsoft Store.
