Even though the last Mass Effect title was not the most successful game in the franchise, this doesn’t mean that BioWare is not interested in creating Mass Effect 4. Truth be told, BioWare is currently focused on other titles such as Anthem and this is the only reason why BioWare is not already working on the highly anticipated Mass Effect 4. Fortunately for us and other fans of the Mass Effect franchise, Casey Hudson who is the studio head at BioWare and executive producer Mike Darrah did an interview with Polygon where they revealed some exciting details about Mass Effect 4.
Mass Effect is Coming
“We’re definitely not done with Mass Effect,” said Mike Darrah. “There’s a lot of stories to be told. We could pull on the threads we put down with Andromeda; we could pull on threads from Mass Effect 3. There’s a lot of interesting space to be explored,” added the BioWare executive producer.
Procedurally Generated Galaxies
What stands out the most from what Mike Darrah said is that there is a lot of interesting space to be explored. This leads us to believe that BioWare might be interested in creating new galaxies for players to explore. Not just that, but BioWare might actually finish a stable feature that can procedurally generate galaxies, similar to the way that No Man’s Sky works.
When asked about the Mass Effect franchise, Casey Hudson made the following statement: “In my mind, it’s very much alive. I’m thinking all the time about things that I think will be great. It’s just a matter of getting back to it as soon as we can.”
Expected Release Date
From the looks of it, we will need to wait a couple more years before BioWare announces Mass Effect 4. BioWare is currently busy with other titles such as the highly popular Anthem and Mass Effect 4 is not going to enter the production phase until BioWare finishes its current projects.
