The Stable Android Pie Update Available For Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ In Northern Europe

Despite the fact that Google is developing Android Q, and there isn’t too much time left until the update will be out, there are still numerous smartphones that haven’t received the Android Pie update. Fortunately, this is slowly changing.

It appears that the latest Android update is slowly rolling out on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. The update brings the stable version of Android Pie and the One UI. There are reports which indicate that the OTA is available in Northern Europe. The update is rolling in stages, so not all users will receive at the same time.

There is a list of countries where the update is already available: Albania, Belgium, Finland, Germany, India, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden. These are the areas where the OTA is currently available, but the list should grow in the future.

At the moment we do not know when the Android Pie stable update will roll out in the United States. However, it shouldn’t take long. The OTA might become available in just a couple of days, or it might take a couple of weeks. If we take a look at the initial roadmap we can see that Samsung is ahead of the schedule. It is very likely that the update will reach the rest of the world at the beginning of March.

The stable update comes after four beta updates were released. The last one came out last week. We were expecting a full release after the latest update, and we are glad to see that the stable Android Pie build is finally out.

The update weighs in at 1.6 GB, which is quite a lot. Therefore, make sure that you have enough storage, as well as a stable Internet connection. Since this update is very big, you need to make sure that you will be able to download it properly.
