BioWare Reveals That They Are Not Done With Mass Effect

If you love Mass Effect games, we have some good news for you. It appears that BioWare hasn’t abandoned the series, and more games should follow in the future. This comes after previous reports seemed to indicate that the Mass Effect franchise might be put on hold.

As you can remember, Mass Effect: Andromeda came out in 2017, and it didn’t have the best possible release. However, it appears that this did not scare developers, as they appear eager to work on new Mass Effect projects.

Mark Darrah is the executive producer of the Anthem and Dragon Age series and he had a couple of things to share with us. We talked about multiple topics, but the most important one was related to Mass Effect.

“We could pull on the threads we put down with Andromeda; we could pull on threads from Mass Effect 3. There’s a lot of interesting space to be explored,” explained Darrah.

General manager Casey Hudson also had a couple of things to share. According to him, the Mass Effect franchise is still alive and they cannot wait to return to it. “In my mind, it’s very much alive,” said Hudson. “I’m thinking all the time about things that I think will be great. It’s just a matter of getting back to it as soon as we can.”

Nonetheless, this does not mean that you should expect a Mass Effect game anytime soon. The studio still has plenty of plans, and they are currently developing the next Dragon Age and Anthem’s ongoing live-ops support.

“We have a bunch of knobs and levers that we can play with to actually do stuff with the community, get people talking about events,” Warner says. “It’s more about us being able to play with our audience members, and less about huge drops of content that take months to do. We don’t want players to gobble it all up and then go into waiting mode until the next big thing happens.”
