It’s been more than five years since Cyberpunk 2077 was announced and we still don’t have an official launch date. Nonetheless, the game is expected to arrive later this year and the only chance that players might have to check out the game sooner is to enroll the beta program. Unfortunately, this is not going to be possible with Cyberpunk 2077 since CD Projekt RED or CDPR for short has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is not going to have an open beta.
Cyberpunk 2077 Beta Program
Nearly all AAA games have a beta program before they are released so that the developers can get help from the players when it comes to spotting bugs. Not just that but opening the beta program also gives players the chance to provide the developers with solid feedback on how the gameplay feels like and what they think that they might change. Well, it looks like CDPR is going to skip this step with Cyberpunk 2077.
A fan asked the folks at CDPR over Twitter if Cyberpunk 2077 will have an open beta program to which CDPR said that there are “no plans for closed/open beta”. Even though this might disappoint some fans who wanted to play the game, CDPR has a good reason why it doesn’t want to start a beta program.
Role Playing Game
Cyberpunk 2077 is a role playing game and what makes it special than all the thousand others role playing games is the fact that every small decision that players make impacts the main story. Therefore, CDPR doesn’t want people to join the beta so that they can spoil the story for everyone else.
Jumping into the world of Cyberpunk 2077 without knowing anything about it is much better than being already informed on what are the “best” decision that players can make, at least when it comes to feeling immersed.
