WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram Went Down Affecting Millions Of Users

Yesterday, all Facebook’s apps, namely, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, went down something that affected millions of users from the United States, Japan, Australia, and Mexico, among many other regions in the world. However, the three services eventually recovered after several hours during which they experienced interruptions.

It seems that everything started on Wednesday, March 13th, at 11 AM ET when users couldn’t access their accounts on Facebook and Instagram or send and receive messages on WhatsApp. You can find more details below.

On Instagram, users could not load their profiles, while on Facebook nobody could see the news feeds. Some users couldn’t even connect to their accounts on the two social networks. On the other hand, WhatsApp made it impossible for its users in the US, Japan, Australia, and Mexico, among different regions of the world, to send or receive messages. By 9 PM ET, none of the issues were solved, meaning that WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram were still down at that time.

WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram Went Down – What Implications That Might Have On Facebook’s Future Plans?

About four hours ago, Instagram reported that the network was back. WhatsApp also seems to be working for users across the world. However, Facebook is still facing issues in some areas of the United States, Canada, Italy, Czech Republic, as well as in other regions.

Also, it seems that some Facebook users can access their news feeds but cannot post anything or sent messages via Facebook Messenger. In addition to that, some users reported that the web-based version of the social network works, but it’s clunky.

Now, that WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram went down, what implications would it have for Zuckerberg’s plans to unite all these networks under one big app? It’s too early to pronounce, but imagine what would have happened if WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram would have been already united under one big umbrella.
