WhatsApp Starts Banning GBWhatsapp Users!

WhatsApp is cracking down on modded versions of the app. The chatting app has started temporarily banning everyone who uses GBWhatsapp mode and it will lift this ban only once the mod is deleted and the user downloads the official version of WhatsApp instead. This is bad news for WhatsApp users because GBWhatsapp introduces a plethora of cool features which make it easier for them to keep in touch with friends and family members.

GBWhatsapp Users are Getting Banned

“If you received an in-app message stating your account is “Temporarily banned” this means that you’re likely using an unsupported version of WhatsApp instead of the official WhatsApp app. If this is the case, you must download the official app to continue using WhatsApp,” said the developers of WhatsApp in a recent blog post.

“Unsupported apps, such as WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp, are altered versions of WhatsApp. These unofficial apps are developed by third parties and violate our Terms of Service. WhatsApp doesn’t support these third-party apps because we can’t validate their security practices,” added the developers.

Recover Chats from GBWhatsapp

From the looks of it, GBWhatsapp users don’t have any other option than to uninstall the mod and use the original app instead. Let’s hope that the developers of GBWhatsapp come up with a solution for this issue but until then, we advise everyone to backup their GBWhatsapp chats before deleting the app. With that said, we are going to present a guide on how to recover chats from GBWhatsapp and transfer them over to the original app.

  • Open GBWhatsapp;
  • Tap on More Options – Chats – Backup Chats;
  • Access the smartphone’s Settings panel and head over to Storage – Files;
  • Rename the GBWhatsapp folder to “WhatsApp”;
  • Open WhatsApp;
  • Head over to the Backup screen and then tap on Restore – Next.
