Considering the fact that WhatsApp has been downloaded by nearly 90 million people from the Google Play Store alone, then we think it’s safe to say that the app doesn’t need any introduction. Everyone knows that WhatsApp is the “go to” app when it comes to free texting and video/audio calls. However, what does need an introduction is the latest 2.19.124 beta update that was released today (May 2nd). This is a maintenance update and it focuses on improving the overall user experience that WhatsApp has to offer.
WhatsApp 2.19.124 Beta
WhatsApp fans should be happy to know that their favorite app has just received a new update. As previously mentioned, the new update focuses on improving the overall user experience that WhatsApp offers and it does this by introducing a handful of bug fixes which take care of various issues. Therefore, WhatsApp’s chances to randomly crash or lag will be smaller than usual after installing the 2.19.124 beta update.
OTA Release
The developers of WhatsApp are rolling out the update via OTA (over the air) right now. However, there is a catch! The update is available only to WhatsApp users who are enrolled in the beta program and as we all know, not everyone is willing to deal with bugs and enroll in the beta program. Fortunately, there is a workaround to access the bug fixes that the latest update brings without having to become a beta tester.
The workaround is to download the update in the form of APK. For those who aren’t familiar with this type of updates, they should know that APK stands for “Android Package Kit” and that all WhatsApp users who want to install APKs are required to manually download them, but not before enabling the “Unknown Sources” option from their smartphone’s Settings panel.
