MacBook Pro’s features will be updated in the new line of devices, Apple deciding to finally refresh the look of its widely popular computer. Although the integration of an OLED Touch Bar and a larger touchpad are welcomed, many laptops running on Windows are already featuring these enhancements and more others. This makes the MacBook look a bit ordinary and older.
We, however, decided to take a peek at the MacBook Pro’s rumored features and qualities.
What to expect
As said by the renown Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant is developing an upgraded version of MacBook Pro with a screen diameter of 16 – 16.5 inches, and that it will probably launch in 2019.
Further rumors claim that the device will feature 16 to 32 GB of RAM, and also come with an Intel chipset. Which one, however, there is no way to know.
According to Kuo’s report, the company is developing a new 15 – 17-inch MacBook, which has a mini LED display. The computers featuring LED display are scheduled to launch in the first half of 2021, but Apple might release other upgraded versions until then, along with the 16 – 16.5 inches computer.
MacBook Pro Design
The fact that Apple will remodel the computer’s design is inevitable, and as Kuo’s report says, the company will most likely plan to release two different kinds of design for MacBook Pro.
As the report says, the first design will feature a display of 16 – 16.5-inch, and it is a considerable difference in size in comparison to the current lineup. The second design will probably come with a smaller display size but might be more powerful. Even so, it appears that the smaller variant will have 32 GB of RAM, which will make the version more powerful compared to the other one.
Different keyboard
The 2019 version of MacBook Pro might also come with an entirely different kind of keyboard. According to the most recent model, Apple might implement a glass keyboard that will be a completely different discussion than the current butterfly keyboard, which has angered customers because it failed on so many levels.
Updates in the OS
Rumors say that it is possible that the new MacBook Pro’s operating system may come with new hardware.
According to the 2017 model, which suggested that Apple may decide to add the eye and hand tracking system to MacOS, and even though this option has been available on the Windows-powered computers for a while now, the chances are that it might also be implemented in the new MacBook Pro.
The processor
It appears that the newest edition of MacBook Pro will feature the Intel Kaby Lake or Coffee Lake processors which are currently powering the MacBook line. However, the upcoming versions could also sport the Whiskey Lake processors as well, which is powering Windows devices for some time now. The chipset may offer more support to the co-joined Gigabit Wi-Fi and also improve the performance of the laptop during browsing.
As said in a recent rumor, the 9th generation processors will be implemented in the latest laptops, no matter if it is the Core i9 or the Core i7 variant, and might follow up the previous year’s 8th generation Core i9 which was incorporated in the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Users may also expect the Ice Lake chipsets to appear in the 2019 MacBook Pros.
A wild suggestion is that the ARM processor may show up in the latest MacBook Pro even though Apple analyst Kuo has already stated that the company won’t release any devices powered by those processors until the year 2020.
MacBook Pro Ports
The MacBook Pro lineup already has dongles such as VGA, DVI, miniDisplay, FireWire 400 to 800 and USB-C in the 2016 edition.
It is difficult to foresee what ports Apple plans to give to the new MacBook Pro, the company including at a point USB-C, but not USB-A ports. However, the USD-C port is useful as it allows users to plug the device from any port.
MacBook Pro 2019 Price
If we take into consideration the current non-touch bar MacBook Pro lineup, the starting price is $1,300 for the 13-inch version which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and a 7th generation Intel Core i5 chipset.
Moreover, the 13-inch laptop’s price, featuring he 8th generation processors and a Touch Bar is starting at $1,800. The 15-inch model’s price starts at $2,400.
As the rumors say, the company will probably stick to the same price model for the next MacBook Pros as well.
Release date
There is no official announcement regarding the release date of the new MacBook Pro editions, but we can predict the date by following the company’s release pattern.
The most recent updated MacBook Pro lineup was launched in July 2018, and the prior lineup of MacBook Pro has been released in June 2017.
However, the MacBook Pro will probably be announced in June or during an event in the fall of this year.
