A few months ago the Android Q Developer Preview was announced by Google. By the end of this year, we will get the official stable version of the Android Q. Hence OnePlus prepares the system and UI with visual changes and new features. Some elemental changes were also proposed by the winner of a contest, LĂ©andro Tijink.
OnePlus headquarters sent Tijink an invitation to come to Shenzhen, China, and maybe inspire the developers with some ideas for the next version. He told them that using more minimal and rounder elements, the current OxygenOS user interface can be enhanced. Users will now be able to focus while using the interface, which has become easier to access.
OxygenOS 10 Initial Setup Page
UI needed a make-over, and Tijink decided to bring on the minimalism in the OxygenOS initial setup page as well. The OxygenOS 9 welcome screen based on Android 9 Pie does not really differentiate itself from the Stock Android UI. The Setup process might additionally come with a design option so you can decide the theme you like.
Native OnePlus Home Launcher and Ambient Display
Tijink did not stop with the Setup process suggestion and also proposed the Ambient display as something that should be changed. The list even continues with the launcher home screen. As for better visibility, the cards of the whole UI will be rounder.
Recent UI, FileDash, Android Q Settings, and Gallery in OxygenOS 10
In the Recent menu, apps should be arranged in a new layout for the OxygenOS 10, according to Tijink. The notification shade will look similar to Android Q as the notifications, and the quick settings toggle will no longer be mushed together. The location or the design of the volume control panel will not change.
