One of the best things that Facebook fans can do if they want to access the latest features and software improvements that the social media app receives is to enroll in the beta program. We know that most people tend to stay away from the beta programs of apps because they don’t want to deal with bugs or glitches, but this is not the case for Facebook. Since the app is used by more than one billion users monthly, then it shouldn’t come as a shock that the developers who are in charge of the social media app feel like they don’t have any room for error and they are constantly releasing updates that introduce bug fixes.
Since we are talking about Facebook updates, we want to let everyone know that the standalone Messenger app has just been updated. The new update for Messenger was released earlier this morning and all Facebook users who are enrolled in the beta program are now eligible to download it.
Facebook Messenger 227.0.0.3.119 Beta Update
As previously noted, the Messenger app has been recently updated. The new update sports the 227.0.0.3.119 beta version number and it’s rolling out via Facebook’s official OTA (over the air) channels. What this means is that Facebook users who have previously set up a beta account will receive the new update in their notifications panel during the upcoming hours.
APK Variant
We also want to mention that the new update for Messenger can also be downloaded by non-beta users, but the process is a little bit trickier. Instead of enrolling in the beta program, Facebook users can always manually download and install the new update in the form of APK (Android Package Kit). The tricky part about installing this type of updates is that they require the “Unknown Sources” option to be enabled.
