The PlayStation 5 is one of the most awaited next-gen consoles. Since it was announced, the internet did not fail to come up with all sorts of rumors, speculations, and leaks.
The latest leaks sparked a lot of excitement among PS fans. First of all, NeoGaf and 4Chan leaked details about the next State of Play. Secondly, a marketing email from Sony was leaked where the company talks about a “PlayStation Meeting 2020” that has been speculated to refer to the official reveal of the PlayStation 5.
According to rumors, this mysterious meeting is set to take place on February 12, 2020, and will probably reveal the next Sony console to the entire world. Allegedly, the company is already sending out invites to publishers like Activision, Ubisoft, and EA to showcase their new games for the upcoming console.
PlayStation 5 Might Launch Sooner Than Expected
However, these are all rumors that have not been officially confirmed, so we should take them with a grain of salt. After all, Sony hasn’t announced anything yet. Sony confirmed the PS5 earlier this year, so the PlayStation Meeting will most probably reveal more details about the brand-new PS5, competing against Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett. Both consoles are expected to release during the holiday season of 2020.
The PlayStation Meeting could offer us more details regarding price, specs, and the accompanying VR headset that everyone is thrilled to try out. The PSVR 2 is said to be in the works and rumors claim that it will be released before the 2021 fiscal year.
All in all, this leaked email could turn out to be nonsense. Truth be told, it is exciting to think that Sony will release the PS5 so soon. Realistically speaking, this will probably not happen. However, since Sony was not present at this year’s E3 and remained silent ever since, there is a probability that the company has a big announcement to make before the end of the year.
