The Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, the new RedmiBook laptop and a Redmi TV are expected this month, and based on what Xiaomi stated, we cannot help but compare the Redmi Note 8 series against the previous generation: The Redmi Note 7.
A new addition in the Redmi brand
Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is preparing for the launch of its new Note 8 series on August 29 in Beijing. The company has already revealed some main details about the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones, where the main selling point is the quad-camera setup.
Both the Redmi Note 8 devices will feature four cameras at the back, which is a big upgrade when compared to the Redmi Note 7 devices. Here are two of the fundamental differences, based on what Xiaomi has confirmed on Weibo:
Camera
The Redmi Note 7 Pro marked the introduction of the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor as a dual-camera smartphone. However, the Redmi Note 8 Pro took it all to the next level by bundling a 64 MP main sensor and an additional trio of cameras. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will feature a super wide angle sensor, a depth of field sensor and a super macro lens at the back.
Processor
The Redmi Note 8 Pro series will be running a mediaTek Helio G90T chipset, which is gaming-oriented. In retrospect, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, which is notably inferior.
The great aspect of the Redmi Note 8 Pro series is the fact that the devices will be liquid cooled in order to keep the thermal footprint under control.
The new lineup will launch in various RAM/Storage specs and probably the high end device will be 8GB RAM.
