Xiaomi Redmi 4 and 4A Gets MIUI 10 Update with New Changes

Xiaomi fans have been waiting for the MIUI 10 update for some time. It’s no wonder that they got excited when they heard that the company is preparing for the big launch. Recently, Xiaomi has presented the devices which will receive the Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based update and it’s no surprise. We are talking about Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A.

News about this process has been presented initially by FoneArena and it became official when an announcement was published on Mi Forums. At least the Redmi 4A update was confirmed through this channel. However, some users proved that Redmi 4 can also support MIUI 10 when they posted screenshots with their devices ”powered” by the new OS.

MIUI 10 comes with several cool features and interesting news

By introducing the MIUI 10 update to Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A Xiaomi is keeping its word, because it promised to do this as soon as possible. The OS is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, so it is expected to come with many cool features.

We cannot predict the users’ reaction to these changes, but the company is expecting to receive a positive feedback. They are counting on a different UI and new colour schemes, but the Security patch could cause some disappointment.

The Redmi 4A’s security level dates from July 2018, while the Redmi 4 received its security patch in October this year. Another difference is the updates size – Redmi 4 can work on the MIUI 10.1.1.0.NAMMFI version and you will need 316MB for installing it, while Redmi 4A can be ”powered” by MIUI 10.1.1.0.NCCMIFI, a variant which requires 268MB.

The MIUI 10 update was well-received, but users would be happier if future versions will bring some of the OS’s most popular features, like face unlock and bokeh mode support for single camera devices. Now, the upgrade is rolling OTA (over the air), but it will soon arrive on devices.
