In the last years Xiaomi has released a number of budget smartphones that impressed the audience with their high level of performance and reliability.
One of those devices is the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, released last year in November. The device rose to popularity among users and became one of the most popular smartphones in 2017.
A successor is already available but Xiaomi won’t neglect the owners of the older device, unlike many other manufacturers of accessible smartphones.
The company is preparing to release a new software update that will make many users around the world happy. The MIUI 10 update will be released slowly in each region in order to minimize any potential issues that could appear during the process.
It is expected that the update will become available for all devices in a few days. When the update is available in our region, a handy notification will inform you that a new update can be installed.
Users that wish to update their device have to simply tap on the notification and confirm the installation of the OTA update. If you plan to install the OTA update directly it is recommended to fully charge your battery before initiating the update process since the task may take a while.
Those that want to install the update faster can opt to download an updated ROM. Once the file is downloaded they have to transfer the file to the device and use the Mi Updater app in order to install the update.
The new version adds a variety of features that were brought by Android 8.1 Oreo. Among them we can name a revamped UI that is cleaner and more intuitive, support for full-screen gestures that open a whole new way of interacting with your device, improved app performance and more.
The camera is now able to take better shots and the update will also improve overall performance and battery life.
