Adobe Flash Player has been deemed unreliable a long time ago. However, the program will be put to an end just in 2020, which means that many users still need it. Flash Player is currently a built-in component on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 which means that Microsoft also releases Windows Update patches when a new fix is available.
A huge flaw was addressed by Adobe this week. This vulnerability allowed Windows system attacks with the use of a malicious Microsoft Office Document. The code can be embedded in Word documents, but also on Excel ones and other vulnerable files. Despite the fact new fixes will be released next week, you shouldn’t postpone the update. It is important to get the patch as soon as possible, as you could become a victim as well.
The vulnerability affected the following product versions:
- Adobe Flash Player Desktop Runtime
- Adobe Flash Player for Google Chrome
- Adobe Flash Player for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11
- Adobe Flash Player Installer
