A 2019 release is out of the question as it is February already, and no announcement has been made yet. However, based on the fact that 2018 was an incredible year for the Sims, developers should consider the Sims 5 a top priority. Therefore, a new game should be released as soon as possible. This is the reason why a 2020 is not out of the question. The sequel is expected to come with a couple of changes and improvements, and fans also hope that it will bring back the open world environment. If the Sims 5 will be released next year, we can expect an announcement in the upcoming months.
