New reports are showing that Rockstar Games has started expanding its developer team and we think it’s safe to say that the development process for GTA 6 is beginning. The only reason why Rockstar Games didn’t start working on GTA 6 until now is because the game developer wanted to create Red Dead Redemption 2 instead. Now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is out, the only other project that Rockstar Games could start working on is GTA 6.
The Location of GTA 6
Even though the internet is buzzing with rumors about GTA 6, there are still lots of important things that we don’t know about the game. For example, no one knows where the game’s location is going to be. Every GTA game took place in a replica city from the US and now, Rockstar Games is expected to take things to the next level and maybe place the game’s action in another country.
It Won’t Be London!
Dan Houser is the Lead Writer for Rockstar Games and he is in charge of creating the main story for GTA 6. The reason why this matters is because Dan Houser did an interview with The Guardian where he was asked if the next GTA title might take place in London, UK.
“I think for us, my gut feeling is, GTA London was cool for the time, but games were more limited then. These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don’t know if it would be a GTA game. I think there are plenty of great stories that we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don’t think that it would be a GTA necessarily”.
From the looks of it, the upcoming GTA 6 will take place in the US like we are used to. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to wait until the next E3 event in order to find out the exact city where the game’s action is going to take place in because Rockstar Games is not slipping any details.
