The Sims was an original game when it was first launched, and many people tend to forget this. The unique and fabulous title allowed you to take on the character of God, in essence, controlling characters and their lives in the gameplay.
The Sims was and still is a one-of-a-kind game, similar to the Sim City, but rather than a city setting, you controlled and mimicked humans, or life if you want. Habitual gamers might have shot the door on the game, but many casual players loved it. As a matter of fact, more than 100 million copies of the title from the series have been sold since the first launch which took place in the year 2000.
The fourth, and also the latest significant version of the game, namely The Sims 4, is still incredibly famous, and it came for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and also Xbox One. The good news is that, for a short period of time, the versions for Windows and macOS of the game are completely free.
This announcement from its publisher, Electronic Arts, is surprising, and many asked why would the company make free such a high-quality game. It appears, however, to be a method to advertise its Electronic Arts Origin digital distribution service, which is also a competing platform to Steam. The free title can only be accessed through EA’s Origin. However, it doesn’t really matter because Origin is free and only requires an account in order to have access to the free edition of The Sims 4.
Even if the game’s free promotion arrives at an end on May the 28th, the title’s license will still be available. To put the matter another way, you have to get the game by that date, and it will remain free after it as well.
