If you are a Skype user, you must be receiving a shower of notifications from Skype. After Microsoft had introduced the email notifications for every missed calls or message, Skype is keeping the user in the loop all the time. Most users like the push notifications, especially if they are signing out from Skype. But several users want them to be shut off, and to escape the extra mess from the inbox. So let’s see how we can turn off the push notifications from Skype.
Turn Off Skype Notifications
A great feature that Skype is offering us is the possibility to manage notifications, even the ones in the email. Also, Skype can be configured to stop sending email notifications from any platform you have it on, not only from Skype. This change doesn’t have to be done manually, because if you are using the same Microsoft ID everywhere, your settings will be synced. For shutting off the email notifications on your Desktop, you have to follow these steps.
- Go to Skype Settings panel from the three dot icon near your profile picture – select Settings.
- Click Notifications – scroll the list until the bottom. Turn off the Missed Call Reminders and the Missed Message Reminders. Being two separate features, you can choose which one you want on or off.
Let’s turn off the email notifications for mobile (Android and iOS).
- Open Skype – tap on your picture – tap Settings.
- Tap Notifications – Email Notifications – switch which one you want or both.
This is all you have to do because Skype will remember your changes.
Finally, you can also use Skype from the web. It is available for the desktop version by using your browser or on your mobile browser as well. You will see that Skype is working the same, and you can disable email notifications from any device.
