Cyberpunk 2077 Will Not Offer Support For Game Modes At Launch

CD Projekt Red might be best known for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt but many fans are looking forward to the release of another IP developed by the same studio. Since its announcement, Cyberpunk 2077 has attracted lots of attention. The game promises a beautiful cyberpunk universe created and fleshed-out by the studio which developed one of the most popular video games in the world.

While a release date is not available, CD Projekt has started to offer some information about the title in the last year. The studio has also shared an important detail about the game, but the news may be a bit disappointing for some people.

The ability to mod games is one of the staple advantages of PC gaming, allowing gamers to enjoy a refreshed experience, new content, or a completely revamped title in the case of total conversion mods. Many fans were looking forward to modding Cyberpunk 2077, but it seems that they will need to have a bit of patience.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Not Offer Support For Game Modes At Launch

A CD Projekt Red representative has stated that while the studio loves the idea of mods and wishes to sustain a passionate modding community in the future, the title will not offer the ability to use mods at launch.

It is thought that the game will receive mod support after the release. In the case of the previous title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, mod compatibility arrived a few months later. The mod kit was a bit slim in comparison to the editors offered by the previous, but the feature was embraced by many fans. The robust modding scene led to the creation of several mods, which make a great game even better.

E3 2019 will take place soon, and CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be present at the conference. However, players will not have a chance to try it. It is hoped that the game will be released in 2020.
