Cyberpunk 2077 Might Not Have A Multiplayer Mode, According To CD Projekt Red

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the games that scored a great success at this year’s E3 convention that came to an end recently. The panel dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077 revealed quite a few details on the new game, including the release date and clues about the gameplay.

Even more, Keanu Reeves, who portrays one of the most important characters of the game, made a surprise appearance at the Xbox E3 2019 press briefing, quickly catching everyone’s attention.

While all these Cyberpunk news were floating all around the internet, CD Projekt Red, the company that develops the game, has been giving even more teasers during a series of interviews. One of the most exciting announcements was that the studio could potentially be working on a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077.

CD Projekt Red Announced That Cyberpunk 2077 Might Not Have A Multiplayer Mode

Pawel Sasko is the Lead Quest Designer of Cyberpunk 2077. He recently spoke in an interview with Eurogamer, offering more information about the rumors. According to Sasko, Cyberpunk 2077 will not have any online components and will be released as an entirely single-player RPG, much like the studio’ previous successful game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

That is what Sasko had to say on the matter: “We’re not really working on multiplayer, our sole focus is single-player. We’ll do that, then we’ll see. We’re not saying no [to multiplayer], but we’re not saying yes. If something does happen, it will definitely be post-launch, and that’s as much as I can say right now.”

That is everything we know so far on the matter. Unfortunately, it seems that our dreams of playing Cyberpunk 2077 online with our friends have been shattered. However, the possibility of a future release of the multiplayer mode cannot be completely ruled out. We will just have to wait and see what CD Projekt Red has in store for us.
