PUBG may have lost its crown as the most popular Battle Royale genre since Fortnite has launched. However, PUBG Mobile remains the top game for Android, at least, and it is still one of the most popular games on Twitch. While the PC PUBG version is quite demanding regarding the computing resources, PUBG Lite is currently under testing.
PUBG is credited as the game which brought the Battle Royale genre to mainstream audiences, and many gamers bought the PC version of the game when it was still in early access. According to a reliable source, PUBG Mobile is the most popular mobile game in the world with more than 100 million players each month. The mobile spin-off is also quite profitable with record revenue of $146 million in May 2019. Almost half of the revenue comes from the Chinese version of the game, which is called Game for Peace.
Tencent is currently looking towards potential markets, and the new version of the title, PUBG Lite, might attract a large number of potential players ( along with a substantial revenue bump). Since the PC and mobile versions of the game are quite demanding, the new PUBG Lite version aims to players with low- and mid-range computers.
PUBG Lite Global Release Is Getting Closer Than Ever
PUBG Lite will offer the same excellent experience as the original title, with the main difference being the fact that the system requirements will be considerably lower, and this trait will make many players happy.
The game is currently in a soft beta phase, and it is only available in a few select regions. The PUBG Lite beta phase will be extended to India, which is the largest of the countries featured on the beta list. Some sources believe that the move signals to a potential PUBG Lite global release in the future, but that remains to be seen.
It is likely that PUBG Lite will enjoy a large number of players since many gamers who don’t have a strong PC play the game mobile version with the help of an emulator. This leads to an unfair advantage for PC players since they enjoy better controls in comparison to those who play the game on a smartphone. It is likely that new information about the title will be available in the future.
