Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt Red’s brand new game, which is produced at the company’s internal studio with the help of the REDengine 4 game engine. The game will be released for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One next year, on April 16th, 2020. CD Projekt Red is best known for developing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Back to Cyberpunk 2077, the action is set in the dystopian Night City. Gamers will take on the role of mercenary V, who has an arsenal of weapons for melee combat.
A key character of the story, Johnny Silverhand, is played by The Matrix and John Wick actor, Keanu Reeves. Recently, Marcin Iwinski, the founder of the Cd Projekt Red studio, divulged some details about the game during E3 2019. It seems that the character played by Reeved will have a much more critical role in the game than we previously thought. According to Iwinski, Silverhand is more than just a cameo.
Keanu Reeves Will Play A Key Character In Cyberpunk 2077, as CD Projekt Red’s Founder Revealed
Earlier this week, Iwinski spoke on the stage at the E3 convention of this year. He was adamant about letting fans know that Keanu Reeves’s character is crucial to the story. He said: “He’s the No. 2 character in terms of lines of spoken text across the entire game.” Iwinski also noted that it took Reeves 15 days to record all of the voice lines for Cyberpunk 2077.
Keanu Reeves was approached about a year ago for the role. After some negotiations, he finally read the script and was immediately convinced he wants to be a part of the game. Silverhand is a hologram that appears in the main character’s head, having a significant contribution to the evolution of the plot. The official release date of Cyberpunk 2077 is April 16th, 2020.
