Call waiting, sometimes abbreviated as CW, is a functional feature of most mobile phones. The call waiting feature is an important feature on the Android smartphone. With the call waiting feature turned on, you can get incoming calls while you are still on another call.

In addition, call waiting notifies you of incoming calls with two quick notification tones. You have the choice of answering the incoming call if it is important, ignoring it or rejecting the incoming call. You can also choose to end your current call or place it on hold while you answer your new call.

How to setup call waiting on Android

To set up the call waiting feature on your android, apply any of these solutions.

Solution 1: Use Additional Settings

Step 1: Launch your Phone dialler

Step 2: look for the menu in your phone dialler. The menu is in the form of three vertical dots either at the top-right corner by the microphone icon in the search bar, or at the bottom-right corner.

Step 3: Tap on the menu to display a full list of options.

Step 4: Tap on settings > ‘Calling accounts’ > your network provider.

Step 5: Tap on ‘Additional settings’ > ‘Call waiting’.

Step 6: Check the Call waiting box.

Note: You should ensure that the call waiting box is ticked.

Solution 2: Download call waiting Enabler App

Step 1: Launch your Google Play Store app and download the Call Waiting Enabler App

Step 2: Install and launch the app

Step 3: Check the ‘Activate Call Waiting Box, you should make sure that the box is ticked

Step 4: Tap on ‘Apply Setting’

Solution 3: USSD option

Step 1: Dial *#43# to check your ‘call waiting’ status on your preferred network.

Step 2: if ‘call waiting’ is not activated, Dial *43# to activate call waiting on your preferred network.

You can deactivate ‘call waiting’ by dialling *#43# to deactivate call waiting service on your preferred network.
