Borderlands 3 predecessors focused on co-op gameplay, and this year’s variant will keep the tradition. Unfortunately, according to Randy Pitchford, the studio president, the game will not be ready for Gearbox’s shooter at the same time as its launch even though the developer of the game wants all platforms to benefit from the game and enjoy it together.
A tweet posted by Pitchford a few months ago mentioned that the team of developers intended on working together to get a cross-platform play ready for the fans of the game. However, this feature will not be prepared in time with the launch of Borderlands 3, according to Pitchford’s last tweet that confirmed this.
Polygon received confirmation concerning this piece of information from a representative from Borderlands 3 publisher 2K. They explained that the team still needs more time to focus on the cross-platform play, so, unfortunately, it will not be ready before the launch of Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 3 won’t feature multiplayer mode at launch
Games such as Dragon Quest Builders 2, Fortnite, and Minecraft can all be played with friends in teams thanks to the multiplayer across platforms, but Borderlands 3 will not be part of this category yet. Probably the crew will fix this situation sometime after its release.
If you are an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Windows PC user, it means that starting with 13th of September you will be able to get and play the Borderlands 3 as that is the date of its release.
Are you mad you will not be able to play the game you have been waiting for with your friends? Do not worry! Until the multiplayer platform is released, you can all gain experience in Borderlands 3 and become a much powerful team.
