Those of you who own an Xbox One will probably have to wait until next year to get the Games with Gold for August 2019. Not quite similar to the reveal for the PS Plus free games, the reveal for the Xbox Games with the Gold lineup is kind of hard to predict.
Larry Hryb from Microsoft said that the free games will probably hit the market towards the end of the month, but that they never set a definite date. However, there is a pattern that formed based on the recent Games with Gold reveals.
Is there a pattern?
It started back in April, when the team announced the May 2019 Games with Gold lineup in the 29th of April. The games were available for download on the 1st of May. Then, the June Games with Gold reveal got revealed on the 30th of May, and the July lineup on the 29th of June. In both of these cases, the games were available for download about two days after the reveal.
If Microsoft will keep in mind this pattern, this means that the August Games with the Gold lineup will be announced on the 30th of July. The time is 4 pm UK time. However, we cannot exclude the fact that they can reveal the games at any point and then just forget the pattern for good. Right now, we cannot do anything but wait and see.
As of now, players can download the July 2019 Games with Gold freebies. It comes with Playdead’s game Inside, and a multiplayer battle game called Big Crown: Showdown. Microsoft explains that, in this game, your friends and not your friends anymore, but they are your enemies. You need to compete for the crown in an online multiplayer in a word full of shenanigans.
