The next-gen PlayStation 5 console has been announced more than a year before its launch and it is currently under development. Despite this, Sony has recently confirmed its firsts collaboration with a game developer. For marketing hype and sales purposes, the console will jointly launch with a number of exclusive game titles.
Gamers are expecting major games to be featured on the new console, with speculation on seeing titles like Elder Scrolls 6 and GTA 6. However, this is only speculation at this time. The first and only confirmed collaboration that Sony has made is with Techland. With the two companies partnering to release Dying Light 2 next year.
Techland partnership
Techland is said to release their new game on the PS5 and the PS4. Not only that, the company has plans on being featured on the current and upcoming Xbox consoles as well. A Techland representative stating that his company is always looking out for new tech and wishes to launch on multiple platforms.
The production company’s desire on a multi-platform launch is bolstered by both Sony and Microsoft. This is due to the work that both companies have made in securing backwards compatibility with most of their previous products.
Techland is seemingly favoring consoles at the moment, stating that their title will be standalone for the Playstation and Xbox. This means stunning graphics and superior loading speeds.
Dying Light 2 scenario
Dying Light 2 will be a first-person adventure game that will feature an open-world scenario. The action takes place in a zombie-infested urban area. Players will employ parkour mechanics for mobility in the crumbling city and will need to use survival tactics in order to scavenge for resources.
The description for the upcoming game states that the human race has been suffering under the effects of a necro virus for 15 years. Humanity is now facing a cruel dark age and is left with only one populated settlement.
The game will have a day-night cycle that will dictate what is going on. Daytime has players roaming around, scavenging and fighting each other. Nighttime is when the zombies come out to infect the living.
