We haven’t seen Rayquaza for a long time in Pokemon Go, and Niantic thought that this might be the right period to do so, reintroducing Rayquaza in a five-star raid. Today, Niantic announced that the Legendary Pokemon would be available in five-star Raids from Wednesday, July 31 at 01:00 p.m. Pacific Time, 04:00 p.m. Eastern Time, 09:00 p.m. British Summer Time through Monday, September 2 in the same time-lapse.
This means all the virtual Pokemon trainers will have an entire mother to hunt and catch the long-desired Rayquaza. Niantic recommended the players, and even the most well-informed Rayquaza hunters will know that the Legendary Pokemon in question is exceptionally susceptible to the ice element attacks like the ones provided by Mamoswine, Lapras, and Weavile. So vulnerable in fact, that you can melt its health bar down to a crisp using the right team composition.
Pokemon Go To Feature Raquaza Raid and Pokemon Storage Cap Boost This August
Taking that into consideration, build your ice-based team and start your Rayquaza hunt right away because you will never know when this legendary Pokemon will ever be reintroduced in the game.
Warring Pokemons. The Legendary Rayquaza is part of the pokemon trinity “Weather Trio” together with Groudon and Kyogre. Rayquaza only appears into the scene whenever the other two Pokemons are starting to wage war on each other, which is fitting for the Raid Battles, as Groudon and Kyogre have lately shown up on Raids as well.
Aside from the Rayquaza Raid that is coming, Niantic planned an update that will delight the Pokemon GO trainers. The update will consist in boosting the storage cap for Pokemon, going from 2.000 to 2.500. With this much inventory space, you can go ahead and catch 500 Rayquazas on this upcoming Raid, or you can leave some free slots for the forthcoming August Pokemon Go Community Day event where you’ll be able to catch Ralts.
