In the early months of 2019, Adam Isgreen, the creative director of the Age of Empire game series, teased that we might be able to take a look at the next title in the series sometime this year.
Fans all over the world were thrilled to hear the news, and most of them expected Age of Empires 4 to be revealed at Gamescon, which takes place this week. Still, some believed that the reveal will be made at Microsoft’s XO 2019 event in November.
As it turns, Xbox’s general manager, Aaron Greenberg, announced that the reveal will be at XO. Xbox says that fans will get the chance to watch unseen footage of Age of Empires 4 gameplay.
Of course, we have already seen the announcement trailer of the game, but it does not divulge many details. We see glimpses of British redcoats, Japanese samurai, Ancient Roman soldiers, Native Americans, Spanish conquistadors, and more, but we don’t know yet if these characters will be included in the game.
XO2019 will start on November 14, followed by three days of reveals and launches. The event will be hosted by London’s Copper Box Arena. According to some sources, Age of Empires 4 will be snown off during the first day of the event, within the Inside Xbox presentation. Coincidentally, November 14 is also the day when Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition launches on Windows Store, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass for PC. Therefore, it is going to be a pretty eventful day for Empires fans.
Ever since the Age of Empires 4 game was announced in 2017, fans have been impatient to find out more details about it. Finally, it seems that we are going to receive answers to most of our questions soon. However, we still won’t get the chance to try out the game until at least the beginning of next year.
