PUBG Mobile is about to release one of the most unexpected crossovers of the year. It appears that a Resident Evil 2 event is coming to the mobile game. The news was announced by the Resident Evil team on Twitter.
“[PUBG MOBILE] × [Resident Evil Re: 2] collaboration decided!” announces a tweet posted by Capcom’s Japanese Resident Evil account. “The world’s most popular mobile game and survival horror monument. What kind of novel play can the combination of two super-IPs produce?”
It is hard to say what this event will bring, but we are excited nonetheless. Many seem to believe that PUBG Mobile will add zombies into the game, which would be very interesting, to say the least.
A trailer is also available for the PUBG Mobile X Resident Evil 2 crossover, and you can watch it here. However, the trailer doesn’t help us learn anything new. We can only see footage from Resident Evil 2, so it is hard to guess what the event will bring.
It is nice to see that PUBG Mobile is bringing exclusive events for its players. We have to remember that back in August there was an event inspired by the Mission: Impossible movie series. The event was named “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and it came with several movie skins and prizes.
We don’t have a release date for the upcoming crossover, but PUBG Corp also tweeted “Something is coming very soon.” This means that we won’t have to wait for too long.
At the very least, players can expect skins inspired by the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil 2 remake is also on its way, and it will be launched on January 25, 2019. This crossover event can be a great way of promoting the game. The interest will definitely grow, especially since PUBG: Mobile was the most popular game on Google Play Store this year.
