Half-Life 3 is already on its way, and there are plenty of rumors surrounding it. However, there is one in particular that stands out among the rest. According to a report, the game will come with the new VR headset from Valve and Knuckles controllers.
The Valve headset appeared to be leaked on Reddit, when user 2flock posted for images with half-assembled VT headsets. He added that ” This doesn’t look like Oculus Quest”. On one of the devices, we could see a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) with the Valve logo on.
HTC and Valve to have a partnership, which explains the HTC Vive VR headsets, but this time it appears that Valve is about to launch its own headsets on the market. According to some leaks, the device might have a 135-degree field of work.
In fact, it appears that increasing the field of view for the headset is one of Valve’s priorities. Developers want to make sure that players will feel present in the virtual space, so the brain is tricked into believing that everything is real.
Half-Life 3
While we can’t be sure that Half-Life 3 is in the works, we do know that Valve is working on a Half-Life VR game. However, this might be something unexpected, and the game could be based on a new idea.
The first Half-Life game came out in 1998 and it presents Gordon Freeman, a physicist who is trying to survive during an alien invasion. Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 Episodes followed the first game.
The last release took place in 2007 and ever since fans have been waiting to receive Half-Life 3. Valve hasn’t offered us any details about the game. So if we are going indeed to receive Half-Life 3, we don’t know how the story will evolve. Unfortunately, most of the Half-Life team isn’t working with Valve anymore.
