Is Mass Effect 4 Finally On Its Way?

Mass Effect: Andromeda was a revolutionary game for the series. It brought several important changes, such as the open-region structure. Obviously, fans loved it, but there was one downside. It left them wanting for more.

Many players felt that the game had several plot points that were left unresolved. Also Mass Effect: Andromeda did not have the market success it was aiming for. All these left us hoping that we will receive a new game soon.

N7 Day

November 7 is a special day for the Mass Effect Franchise, also known as N7 Day. While we had no official information about Mass Effect 4, it appears that on N7 BioWare decided to tease us a bit. The following tweet has been posted on the official BioWare account:

This year we take a look back—and a glimpse at the future of Mass Effect. #N7Day pic.twitter.com/E8fLH1ftx8

And that is not all. Casey Hudson did share an interesting blog post in which he confirmed that the franchise is not over yet. Also shared with us that there are “plans” which will ensure that that Mass Effect will continue. Here is what he wrote:

A couple of weeks ago it was once again N7 Day.  It’s one of my favorite times of the year – a day when people around the world share their experiences with Mass Effect.  It’s so inspiring to know that there are so many fans of the series out there that are enjoying the games we’ve made, and hoping that we’ll make more.  We announced one of the things we’ve done recently (a 4k enhancement to Mass Effect: Andromeda on Xbox One) but as we alluded to in our N7 Day video, that was just a small part of the plans we’re making for Mass Effect going forward.

With all these signs, it becomes quite obvious that we will receive a new Mass Effect game. We just don’t know when.

  1. Squirrel……

    – it was hardly “open region” when you keep running into that massive red shield “YOU ARE LEAVING THE PLAYABLE AREA”.

    – we definitely didn’t want MORE Andromeda because it was so good. We wanted DLC because we were hoping it would bring with it a plethora of direly-needed fixes and improvements that all those so-called patches neglected.

Considering that Andromeda was originally meant to be the first title in a new trilogy, or at least the fact that it introduced us to a brand new universe the way Mass Effect 1 did, it failed spectacularly on all fronts. A remastered ME1 in Frostbite would completely blow it out of the water.

The corner-cutting was painfully obvious. Sloppy and rushed writing, atrociously bland music score, copy/paste planets:

(Kadara is a replica of Eos with more vegetation, Elaaden is a barren replica of Eos, Voeld is a replica of Elaaden with swapped palette)

I can go on like this all day. Now if you excuse me…..I have a little Hell to raise.
