Apple is working on an AirPower charging pad and it might be almost ready. Users have been waiting for it for quite some time, as the announcement for the charging pad was made back in 2017 when the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X were announced.
The ChargerLAB Twitter account posted a tweet in which it announced that Apple began manufacturing the AirPower mat. This means that it shouldn’t take long until we will receive a release date for it. Here is what the ChargerLAB tweet says:
Breaking: AirPower is finally coming. We just learned from credible source in supply chain that the manufacture Luxshare Precision has already started producing Apple AirPower wireless charging pad. Luxshare Precision is also the maker of Apple AirPods and USB-C cables.
Other details
Charger LAB also had other details to share with us. They even included a screenshot of a conversation that seemed to confirm that the charging pad should be shipping soon. ChargerLAB also explained that Luxshare Precision started production. This would make sense, as Luxshare is the manufacturer for the Apple AirPods.
Apple AirPower: Another source claims Pegatron is set to start mass produce AirPower at Jan 21. Pegatron is also an Apple OEM in Asia. The company employee says AirPower has total three layers of coils in 8-7-7 configuration from bottom to top.
If the news is true, this means that we are finally about to receive the AirPower. According to various reports, the launch was delayed because there were many technical difficulties. The pad is supposed to work with the iPhone 8, iPhone X and newer, as well as the AirPod headphones and their case and the Apple Watch. The AirPower should also be able to charge multiple devices at the same time.
