Despite the fact that they are mid-range products, Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its Galaxy A series. The Android Pie update was released four months ago and the One UI based on it reached the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus and the Galaxy Note 9. The Galaxy S8 series and the Galaxy Note 8 were also used to test the beta versions.
However, the high-end smartphones won’t be the only Samsung devices that will receive the Android 9.0 Pie Update. Reports indicate that the company is working to get the update ready for the A series as well. It appears that the first smartphone that should get the Android 9.0 Pie is the Galaxy A7 (2018).
Running One UI
A listing on the Wi-Fi Alliance’s official website offered us the confirmation we need. The Galaxy A7 was listed there running One UI. This is based on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Since the phone was listed there this means that it shouldn’t take that long until the update becomes available. According to Samsung, the One UI should be launched at one point in April.
According to various reports, Samsung is also working to release the Android Pie update on the mid-range devices released last year, including the Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphones. For example, we already know that the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2019) and the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) already have the Wi-Fi Alliance certification.
The update was already released for a couple of Galaxy smartphones. The stable update is available for the Samsung Galaxy S9+, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8.
