Each iOS version brings major changes, and iOS 13 should be no exception. In fact, it is speculated that Apple’s next update will be a big one. The company does need to attract customers once again, as sales have been going down lately. A new iOS version packed with powerful features and big improvements could be the solution.
Changes
iOS 13 is expected to come with some big changes. For example, we might finally receive a screen redesign. It’s been a while since we received a major design change and it might be time for a new one. There have been rumours flying around about a home screen revamp for example.
The camera app might could also use some extra features. This is something that has also been mentioned by last year’s leaks, so we wouldn’t be surprise to see this change happen.
When will it be released?
The new iOS version is expected to be released at the same time as the 2019 iPhones. There is a certain timeline that Apple will probably follow. Around June 3 WWDC 2019 should begin, and this is when the iOS developer beta for paid Apple Developers should be released. Then, at the end of June, the public beta for iOS 13 might come out. In September the new iPhones are supposed to come out, and iOS 13 should be launched at the same time.
Compatibility
As always, it is very important to know which devices will be “covered” by the update. At the moment the iPhone 5S continues to receive support and it received six different iOS versions. However, this might stop after iOS 13 is released. The oldest devices compatible should be the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and iPod Touch 6th generation.
