The Honor Play should receive the Android 9 Pie update (EMUI 9 update) soon. If we take a look at the timeline we can see that the smartphone received numerous OTA updates. The update slowly rolled out on more devices this year. For example, Indian users received stable Android 9 Pie based EMUI 9.0 update back on 12 January. The update came with several new features, including bug fixes and HiVision.
Finally, back on 27 February 2019, a new software update based on EMUI version 9.0.0.184 (C675E7R1P9) was released for Honor Play in India. The OTA update is very important as it also brings the February 2019 Android security patch. The new version comes with support for ViLTE feature (VoLTE) as well.
The latest update comes with several important fixes, including fixes for the system ringtone bug, and the camera issues related to AI mode and electronic image stabilization.
