The dark mode is the latest trend amongst apps. The night mode isn’t just aesthetically pleasing, and it also comes with many numerous advantages.
For instance, the dark mode is easier on the eyes when the user is using the application at night. More than that, when it comes to OLED screens the dark mode can help preserve the battery life.
WhatsApp dark mode
At the moment WhatsApp users are waiting for the release of the dark mode. The new mode is supposed to become available on both iOS and Android devices.
We found out the news back in September 2018, when WABetaInfo first reported on it. Back then they posted a tweet on their official Twitter account:
I’m happy to exclusively give the good news: WhatsApp is finally working on a Dark Mode! It’s a dream.
There are many important secret references in recent updates!
Be patient to see it out, hoping it will be FULL OLED friendly for Android phones, iPhone X and newer!
Release date
There is no clear release date for the WhatsApp dark mode, but it shouldn’t take long until the new dark mode is finally out. Nonetheless, it appears that other rival apps have already announced their own dark mode.
The announcement was published on the Viber Twitter:
Walk on the dark side.
Check out our new dark mode theme on Android! Save battery, protect your eyes, and keep the room dark when other people are trying to sleep.

More than that Messenger also launched its dark mode back on March 4.
“We’re over the moon to share that dark mode for Messenger is finally making its debut.
One of the most highly anticipated features from the launch of Messenger 4, dark mode is a sleek new look that goes easy on the eyes by switching the background from white to black,” wrote Bridget Pujals, Product Manager for Messenger.
