Cyberpunk 2077 Will Take Place in a Different Timeline Than the Tabletop Version of the Game

The latest news that CD Projekt RED announced about the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 is that the game will make an appearance at this year’s E3 event. The gaming event is scheduled to kick off on June 11th and that is when we will get to see new gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077. However, the folks at CD Projekt RED want to make sure that fans are hyped up and they posted a new video called “Creating Cyberpunk 2077” on Sony’s PlayStation YouTube account.

“Creating Cyberpunk 2077”

As previously noted, the video posted by CD Projekt RED is called “Creating Cyberpunk 2077. The video serves the purpose of showing everyone the faces of the people who are working on creating Cyberpunk 2077 and also to make it loud and clear that the game is not finished yet. CD Projekt RED knows that everyone wants to know the official launch date for the game, but the developer is not going to announce this too soon.

CD Projekt RED states in the video that creating something perfect takes time. Not just that, but CD Projekt RED would rather be late to the “party” and launch a game that is worthy of winning the GOTY (game of the year) award instead of launching a buggy game that disappoints fans.

Different Universe

Another interesting thing that CD Projekt RED announced is that Cyberpunk 2077 will be set sixty years in the future when compared to the timeline of the tabletop version of Cyberpunk 2077. Most people don’t know this, but there is a tabletop Cyberpunk 2077 game and this is the inspiration behind CD Projekt RED’s upcoming title. In addition, the Cyberpunk 2077 universe will be set in a parallel timeline. This is great news because it means that the developers can be as creative as they want.
