Pokemon Go is a fun mobile game that has been topping the Google Play Store’s “most played” chart for the last couple of years. The reason why this mobile game has managed to stand the test of time despite being released back in 2016 is because it benefits from a steady stream of updates that introduce new features, content, bug fixes and software tweaks. With that said, Pokemon Go fans should be happy to know that a brand-new update has just been released.
Not an Aprils Fools Day Joke
The developers who are in charge of Pokemon Go wanted to celebrate Aprils Fools Day and instead of making a gag, they decided to release a new update. The update changes Pokemon Go’s build number to 0.139.2 and it introduces a handful of bug fixes that improve the overall software reliability of the game.
Pokemon Go 0.139.2 Update
As previously noted, the new update for Pokemon Go sports the 0.139.2 build number and it can be downloaded right now. Although, this is not a regular update and it comes in the form of APK. Since APK stands for “Android Package Kit”, it should come as no surprise that the update can only be installed on Android powered devices for now.
This is a big update and it weighs in at 96.15MB. Therefore, we advising all Pokemon Go fans to download the game via Wi-Fi and mobile data because they don’t want to use it all only for this update. In addition, the update is targeted at smartphones that are running on Android 8.0 Oreo. Luckily, the update can also be installed on older smartphones because it requires a minimum of Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
Improved Software Stability
The new update comes with a handful of bug fixes and while they might not make any considerable changes to the gameplay of Pokemon Go, they do improve the game’s overall software stability. This makes the new update a high priority download.
