Are you ready for new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL details? We have them and we are here to share them to you. While many users focus on Pixel 3 and 3a XL smartphones, but the Pixel 4 remains a powerful device. New leaks are available and they show us how the design will look like for the phones.
As it turns out, the AOSP repository of Google does contain a couple of device references. The codenames used for them are “Needlefish” and “Coral”. If we take a look at the latest Google app code we can also see “Flame” and “Coral”. So far, “Coral” seems to be the common name, so we can consider this one confirmed. More than that, we know that Google has used names of aquatic species for its devices in the past. Therefore, Coral makes sense.
If we follow the theme, “Needlefish” requires no explanation, while “Flame” might refer to the Flame angelfish. It appears that the Pixel XL is the one codenamed “flame”.
For those who need another confirmation, it appears that a Pixel phone that has been codenamed “Coral” already showed up on Geekbench. The device has 6 GB of RAM and it as Android Q running on it. The device seems to be the Pixel 4. The previous phones came with 4 GB of RAM, so we already noticed an improvement. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 855.
Release date
There is no official release date yet, but we can anticipate one. For instance, we know that the Pixel devices were always launched in the second part of the year. It’s safe to say that there will be a launch event at one point in October. We might even get the Pixel Watch during that event. If the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL will be launched then, we can expect them to be released in November.
