Fresh firmware update for the Nintendo Switch has been released. The Nintendo Switch 8.0.0 update version arrives with lots of new features, but one of them stands out.
Nintendo Switch owners will have the option to transfer save data of individual games between consoles, a feature demanded by fans since the hybrid device was launched. Nintendo is currently working on new Switch models, and it is likely that the company will encourage some users to make the switch (pun intended) to a pricier version which should provide superior features. The new save transfer protocol would come in handy in this case.
Nintendo Switch 8.0.0 firmware update brings lots of novelties
Users will now have to option to sort their software by selecting the All Software option from the HOME menu. The following criteria are available: last time played, total playtime, software publisher and software title. Keep in mind that the All Software option will become available when 13 or more icons can be found on the HOME menu.
Also, you can view all news items which are currently available by selecting the View All Available News option which can be found in the News menu. Besides, personalizing your user icon by picking from 15 new icons inspired by Yoshi’s Crafted World and Splatoon 2 is now possible. You can change your user icon by going to My Page, which can be found on the upper left area of the HOME menu.
The new Zoom feature can be enabled by going to System Settings/ System and turning the feature on. If you wish to use the feature press the HOME button twice.
Different quality of life features were also added in Nintendo Switch 8.0.0, including new parental options and new home region options. The Nintendo Switch has been quite successful since it was launched, building a solid user base which quickly surpassed the meager sales of the Wii U. It remains to be seen if the new Switch versions will be as impressive as the current console.
