Some previous reports stated that CD Projekt Red might release Cyberpunk 2077 in 2019. While, until now, that rumors could have turned out to be accurate, now the games studio might postpone Cyberpunk 2077 release date to 2020.
A few weeks ago, CD Projekt Red stated via its CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz, that E3 2019 would be the most significant one in the whole history of the gaming company. The CFO added that Cyberpunk 2077 would be present at the conference, during CD Projekt Red’s panel. Also, CD Projekt Red’s global community leader Marcin Momot confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be at E3 2019, but that the title won’t be playable by anyone besides the developers behind the title.
Even though CD Projekt Red did not reveal any official Cyberpunk 2077 release date, the fact that E3 2019 would be the most significant one for the company, many have seen that as a clear suggestion that the game would come out in late 2019. Now, new details suggest that Cyberpunk 2077 might come out in 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date Might Be Postponed To 2020
Even though everybody was expecting Cyberpunk 2077 to roll out later this year, and although there were some talks inside CD Projekt Red to release the title in late 2019, some of the devs and executives considered that impossible or, at least, too challenging to happen.
“This has gotten a lot of Reddit attention so some clarity: I’ve heard from three sources that Cyberpunk 2077 was aiming for 2019, but belief around the studio was that it was an unrealistic target. I expect the first half 2020 or maybe even an E3 announcement of 2019, then a delay to 2020,” said Kotaku’s Jason Schreier who is a respectful source of information when it comes to video game industry.
As a matter of fact, Cyberpunk 2077 might not be ready for a 2019 release since CD Projekt Red is competing with Rockstar Games and wants to release a game superior to Red Dead Redemption 2. Anyways, CD Projekt Red might reveal the exact Cyberpunk 2077 release date during its panel at E3 2019, so we’re looking forward to the conference which begins on June 11th.
