Is Candy Crush Soda crashing on your Windows 10 PC? This post will show you how to fix the notorious crashing error on Candy Crush Soda.
Candy Crush Soda (and Saga), from Kings, hosts cross platform support for Android, iOS and Windows. And while the game is generally more popular on mobile platforms, some avid gamers prefer the optimized experience of playing it on a bigger screen – PC.
However, there have been several complaints of the game crashing on PC, particularly on Windows 10. And while the actual cause remains a mystery, we have come up with some solutions.
Fix: Candy Crush Soda Crashing Windows 10
Due to the relative notoriety of this error on Windows 10, many have attributed it to a bug/glitch associated with the PC version of the game. And it is believed that Kings (Candy Crush Soda developer) released an updated version – v.1341.1.0 – which fixed the malignant bug.
In any case, below are some fixes you can try from your end:
Solution 1: Reset Candy Crush Soda
As stated earlier, there is a bug(s) in the game, which causes the error. So, try and reset the game.
However, it should be noted that resetting the game would mean that you lose your progress, in which case, you’d have to start afresh.
If you don’t mind starting afresh, here’s how to reset Candy Crush Soda on Windows 10:
- Open Start menu: click on the “Windows” icon.
- Locate and click on Settings > System.
- Select Apps & Features.
- Locate Candy Crush Soda and click on it.
- Click on Advanced options > Reset.
- Confirm action in the prompted window.
- Exit
- Restart PC.
This action will remove all data associated with Candy Crush Soda. This should fix the error.
Solution 2: Install the Fixed Update
If you’re still encountering this error, it’s possible that you’re still running an outdated version of the game.
To fix this, you can update the game. However, it’s recommended that you remove and reinstall a new – updated – version afresh.
By reinstalling the fixed update (v.1341.1.0), you should be able to play the game without hassle.
Closing Note
This error, unlike many others, was acknowledged by the developers (Kings), and they’ve since released an update to fix it.
So, if you’re running the updated version and you still encounter these crashes, the problem is probably from your system (RAM/GPU/CPU).
